This photo was taken on a stunning autumn afternoon traverse of the Grey Corries from east to west surrounded by a sea of cloud during a high pressure temperature inversion. Only the highest peaks pierced the cloud and I was alone in another world. I camped for the night on the shoulder of Aonach Beag but next day the cloud had risen to envelop the summits and the traverse of the Aonachs and Ben Nevis was a damp grey one.
