The Bhasteir Tooth, Am Basteir & Sgurr nan Gillean

The Bhasteir Tooth, Am Basteir & Sgurr nan Gillean at the spectacular north end of the Black Cuillin ridge. Bla Bheinn (Blaven) is the more distant peak to the right. Unbeknown until later, this was taken on the same day that Finlay Wild broke the 3 hour barrier for the Cuillin ridge traverse, an amazing feat of which more can be read at Finlay’s blog. Prior to taking this photo from Sgurr a’Fionn Choire, I had climbed Am Basteir, and on the walk back beneath this peak I heard Finlay’s whoop of joy at setting the record, though it was only later that I realised what had been going on.
