Canisp December Reflections

Canisp from the north end of Assynt’s Loch Awe

Canisp from the north end of Loch Awe (a small loch in Assynt rather than the large one in Argyll and Bute) where a path crosses a small bridge and leads on to the eastern flank of the hill providing good access. This was taken on the same calm December afternoon as Canisp Relections, Loch Awe. After taking this I headed east on to Canisp hoping for some fine afternoon views of Suilven.

On the summit I was greeted by a heavy snow shower which cleared after a while to reveal Suilven as seen below. The setting sun wasn’t visible behind the clouds and I completed the descent and return to the road in heavy snow and darkness by head torch.
