A'Cheir Ghorm & Ben Hope from Foinaven, Northern Sutherland

The view east from Foinaven over the stunning A’Cheir Ghorm (A’ Ch’eir Ghorm) ridge and Coire na Lurgainn to Ben Hope, the most northerly Munro, autumn colours on display. The 911 m (2989 feet) summit of Foinaven’s highest top, Ganu Mor, narrowly misses out on Munro status, ensuring that Foinaven is one of the highest and most alluring Corbetts in Scotland. A’Cheir Ghorm is an outlier from the main Foinaven ridge but well worth a visit. On this occasion, I walked out along it’s ridge to the highest point Am Bathaich and then descended scree to the east, heading down to the track in Strath Dionard via Coire Duail.
