Stac Pollaidh is a wonderful miniature mountain and is particularly well suited for ascents where time is short or as a view point late in the day. Sculpted from highly weathered Torridonian sandstone, the summit ridge is a scramblers playground with pinnacles in a variety of shapes and sizes. Ben Mor Coigach is a charismatic hill, consisting of a group of sprawling tops and is well worth a good exploration. It is most easily approached from the western coastal side south of Achiltibuie. Here the great prow of Sgurr an Fhidhleir is prominent in the centre of the photo. It hosts a number of serious rock, and when in condition, winter climbs.
