On a beautiful December day after fresh snow, a friend and I set off to traverse Creag Meagaidh from west to east. As we approached the summit in the middle of the day this stunning panorama across Lochaber was at our backs. In the middle distance on the far left is Carn Dearg above Loch Ossian. Chno Dearg is behind the walker and a small slither of Loch Treig is visible to the right. Stob a’Choire Mheadhoin and Stob Coire Easain are the central twin peaks with the Grey Corries and then Aonach Beag and Mor to the right. Ben Nevis is just poking over Aonach Mor. Beinn a Chaorainn is the closer hill on the right. In the far distance, hills beyond Rannoch Moor around Loch Lyon, the Black Mount and Buachaille Etive Mor are visible.
