Autumn sun descending in the west during a temperature inversion from the summit of Sgurr Choinnich Mor in the Grey Corries. Aonach Beag is on the right across the clouds. Cloud iridescence is visible in the clouds either side of the sun. After this shot I continued on along the ridge to camp high on the shoulder of Aonach Beag as dusk was drawing in. This photo was taken on a stunning autumn afternoon traverse of the Grey Corries from east to west surrounded by a sea of cloud during a high pressure temperature inversion. Only the highest peaks pierced the cloud and I was alone in another world. I camped for the night on the shoulder of Aonach Beag but next day the cloud had risen to envelop the summits and the traverse of the Aonachs and Ben Nevis was a damp grey one.
