A classic view of the twin prows of Quinag, Sail Gharbh and Sail Gorm. The buttresses are an imposing sight above Kylesku but Quinag is easily scaled from the high point of the A894 main road between Kylesku and Inchnadamph, as seen in “Quinag Late Winter Snow”. The Kylesku Bridge built between 1981 and 1984 is an impressive structure whose sweeping curves fit well into the landscape as it spans the waters of An Caolas Cumhang. It has been awarded special status by Historic Environment Scotland. The bridge replaced the Kylesku ferry which can be seen in the video below. I remember crossing by ferry as a child on holiday with my parents and the bridge being open on our next visit north. These days the bridge is part of the North Coast 500 route. The car park at it’s north side offers great views.
